Since then, the property has been under repair and reconstruction. The house was damaged in 2005 by hurricane Katrina.

Aside from a library, there are several buildings on the grounds of Beauvoir. These include the Tomb of the Unknown Confederate Soldier, a nature trail, and the Confederate Museum. Other structures are under construction, including a blacksmith’s shop and a banquet hall.
