Your article would be helpful if it contained financial data. The mall land like all the other for profit businesses around it is eyeballed for SU takeover. The Lee Jackson’s was a for profit motel and restaurant and banquet room for the community for decades. It was donated to SU and now it a loss of tax revenue for the city and an income for residential housing the college’s food services.
The mall lost its community gathering and a people clicker of who goes in there would support that fact with data. The new bque food replacing numerous other attempts to have a restaurant in there does not seem to be popping with customers.
